Age Divisions:
Girls 12-, 13-, 14-, 15-, 16-, 17- & 18-Under teams Individual
players may participate in more than one age division. However,
a maximum of three players from any one team may play together on
a second team in a different age division. Players may not play
on more than one team in the same age division.
All players who become MSF members are eligible to participate in the MSF youth volleyball state competition.
Note: Minnesota teams which have interscholastic high school sophomore, B squad, JV or Varsity athletes on their roster from more than one high school must avoid violating the MSHSL “all-star” rule by posting “notice of tryouts” at each high school where potential rostered players attend school. Entry Fees:
The entry fee for an MSF Youth Volleyball State Championship is just $125.00.
State Tournament Entry Fee Discount:
Teams registering for two state tournaments should submit $240.00, a savings of $10.00.
Teams registering for three state tournaments will save $20.00
and should submit $355.00.
Teams registering for all four state tournaments will save $30.00
and should submit $470.00.
NOTE: All players must become MSF members to be eligible to participate. To become MSF members team membership form must be completed and applicable membership fees must be submitted (please contact MSf offices for a membership form). It is $3 per player for the season.
Once an entry fee has been submitted and a position reserved, there is no refund.
Format:
Eight game guarantee; pool play, top four teams from each pool advance to single elimination championship/consolation series.
Rosters:
The Official MSF team roster shall be properly completed and hand carried to the state tournament.
Note: Teams participating in more than one MSF state tournament need not submit a roster each time; it will automatically be forwarded by the MSF to the state tournament site.
Roster Limit:
12 players plus two alternates. Alternates may participate only after one or more of
the original 12 players have been removed from the official roster.

Each definition below applies to all divisions, the player must
meet only one of the two criteria:

An athlete can play UP in an age division but not down.
Note: Teams must have proof of age/grade at their bench for each player during all matches. If applicable, a current copy of your USAV North Country Region roster will be accepted in lieu of individual age documents. Note: Age waivers provided by the USAV will NOT be accepted by the MSF. Team disqualification will result if a team is protested and cannot supply the proper credentials.
Officials:
Game officials are MSHSL certified. Teams do not officiate, but will be responsible for supplying one line judge for each set/match which they play. The line judge need not be a player, as long as they are competent, knowledgable and able to maintain impartiality.
Awards:
Team trophies and individual medals will be presented to the first and second place teams. Individual medals go to the third, fourth, consolation champion and consolation finalist. A championship banner will also be awarded to the first place team in each age division. Individual medals go to consolation champions/finalists teams.
Playing Rules:
All play shall be governed by MSHSL/USAV playing rules with a few minor modifications. Participating teams will be sent a complete set of rules and regulations that govern the competition.
Equipment:
1. Game balls are supplied by the teams.
2.
Teams are responsible to supply their own first aid equipment.
Uniform:
All teams must supply and wear jerseys with at least 4" high number (6" high is recommended) on either the front or the back of the jersey or the back of the jersey (number on front is recommended). Numbers on shorts or sleeves do not meet this requirement. Tape numbers are not acceptable. Shirt bodies must be of identical color. Illegally uniformed player(s) shall be withheld from competition by their team until they become legal. If a player(s) violates this rule by entering the game prior to becoming legal they shall be disqualified from that game.
