Minnesota Sports Federation Facts & Figures

Minnesota Sports Federation conducts state championships and special events in adult softball, volleyball, basketball, touch football, broomball and youth sports programs in girls and boys Junior Olympic softball, basketball, volleyball and baseball.

Minnesota Sports Federation annually conducts over 400 state championship and special events in multiple sports.

The Minnesota ASA serves as the local association for the Amateur Softball Association of America-USA Softball. ASA*USA-MSF Softball is recognized as the National Governing Body for Softball by the United States Olympic Committee.

The Minnesota Sports Federation serves as the administering agency for the National Sports Federation, organization "Serving the USA Through Sports".

The Minnesota Sports Federation is affiliated with the National Youth Basketball Council, one of the nation’s leading youth basketball organizations.

The Minnesota Sports Federation is the largest amateur sports organization of its kind in the United States with over 230,000 adult and youth members.

ASA*USA Softball is the largest softball organization in Minnesota with nearly 10,000 member teams.

The Minnesota Sports Federation’s annual operating budget is dependent on participant fees that are collected and used solely for providing amateur participatory sports opportunities.

Minnesota Sports Federation team membership and tournament entry fees are substantially lower than other organizations.

The Minnesota Sports Federation administers and houses the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame.

The Minnesota Sports Federation is a supporting partner of the "Minnesota Good Sport Program".

The Minnesota Amateur Sports Review, on-line, highlights amateur sports activities in the state and is sent to all member teams, leagues and officials. MSF publications have a combined circulation of over 200,000.

The Minnesota Sports Federation annually sponsors Softball Night at the Dome, a benefit for the Minnesota Special Olympics/Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame.

The Minnesota Sports Federation annually conducts player and coaches clinics in a variety of sports.

The Minnesota Sports Federation annually sponsors and conducts the Girls High School All-Star Fastpitch Series, Iowa-Minnesota-Wisconsin High School Softball Challenge and administers the Girls Metro Fastpitch Fall League.

The Minnesota Sports Federation is governed by an eleven-member board which includes representation from the league/travel director, team manager/coach and game official categories.

The Minnesota Sports Federation’s mission is to provide wholesome amateur-recreational sports opportunities that promote fitness, personal growth, good sports and the development of lifetime leisure skills.
